During WWI, The British Had Bantam Regiments. Soilders 5'4 And Under
During World War I, many men wanted to sign up to fight but the British had a height requirement of 5 foot 4. To service these enthusiatic would-be soldiers, they created separate battalions that would be lead by officers of normal height. Their rifles would be cut 6 inches shorter and they had custom made uniforms to accommodate their short stature. They had an amazing track record.
