Many people are surprised when I tell them that many places in Africa have very short height averages because of the NBA stereotype. This is even true in countries where food isn't that scarce and nutrition is quite good.

I am surprised that Vietnam is not on the list. I expected to see it.

I remember reading somewhere about Vietnam making it a national goal to raise its national average height. 

Just searched and here is the article. This could be why.
