Assuming 5'6-5'7 was the average in those countries, those 5'8+ should be the top shelf producers, critical thinkers and the most intelligent, equivalent to guys 6'+ over here.

I dont have any data on the height of men in my country (and I havent lived there very long.. only as a kid) but what little Ive rea is the average woman is 4'10-4'11.5... given the average woman is ~5 inches shorter than the average man in western countries, probably for S.E Asian countries the average woman is 4.5" shorter than the average man... making the average man 5'2.5- 5'4 ... making me shorter than average in S.E Asia as well...

So, Im a good example myself of being shorter than average but still smart - AKA its only a correlation, not an iron law of nature or anything.

My dad does not believe in the Anne Case paper, though maybe that is because of confirmation bias?

So, what DOES your dad believe then? I personally, have no strong beliefs... the data is too contradictory... I would just LIKE the Anne Case paper to be true.

Why do you agree that taller people are smarter on average? What evidence do you have to supply for this assertion other than confirmation bias?

Can't this same reasoning be used to suggest that men are smarter than women?

Conversation between two female co-workers in the break room today

I was on my lunch break and had my air-pods on listening to some 70s soft rock (I love the band "Player"). These two women who are very cordial with me, Italian, were sitting across from me eating and talking about their husbands, comparing them to other men they've dated. Both were talking about how they were with men that much shorter than their husbands in the past, but how they "somehow" ended up with tall men. Their husbands are 6'2 and 6'4 respectively. They "claimed" that t height wasn't much of a factor when they were dating.

Then the best part. They both started talking about how safe they feel around their partners , but then brought up how they didn't have much going for themselves but their height. The other woman said the same about her husband. They compared how their exs were outgoing, charismatic and charming, but how their husbands don't feel like they have to do much and are boring by comparison.

This made me think about how much some are willing to trade for height, even if subconsciously, that it would mean so much more than the positives they listed about their previous partners.

Now they didn't talk about why they broke up with their exs, but I would bet a month's salary that it was for something petty or overblown.

Strong inverse association between male height and suicide

A 2005 Swedish study followed a large cohort of men from age 18-49 and noticed a 9% decrease in suicide risk for every 5cm (2 inch) increment in height.

You can find the American Journal Of Pyschiatry article here

Research notes link between height and divorce

This an older article (about ten years old), but makes a link between height in divorce. In short, taller men marry earlier but are at higher risk for divorce. Shorter men marry later and have more stable marriages.

The link to the study can be found here

Any of ya'll wear insoles? Contemplating between two.

I understand that insoles are a temporary solution, but I just wanna hear what you guys think. I don't think that it's bad since some shoes can make you appear taller anyway. I found some hidden ones like this and like this. Just wanna know ya'lls stance on insoles. Peace and love.

No correlation between a team's height and results

This BBC study is a big one boys, but I wonder if this will promote the idea that society is in general heightist in sports and the professional world overall. This is study done about Football. Could this be extended to all sports? Jose Altuve is the best batter in Baseball at just 5'6. Shouldn't that be telling?
