Leg Lengthening
Why are so many people against Leg Lengthening?

But are okay with Breast Implants, Butt Implants, Botox, Plastic Surgery and other types of body enhancement. How is getting taller different from any of those surgeries? They all carry risks and are done for the sake of vanity, except lack of height has real life implications particularly for men. No one cares if a woman has an A cup, but people will ostracize a guy for being under 5'8.

I ask because I have gotten a lot of hateful private messages after posting my AMA thread since I actually had the procedure done (and am very happy with the results).

I also did LL and get the same reaction.  I understand it to a point since in my case, I really didn't need it.  Before LL, I was tall enough to be respected wherever I went.  I had a good job and hooking up and dating women was not a problem for me.  I view LL the same as you.  In fact one of the reasons I did LL was that my legs seemed shorter than they should be given the size of the rest of my body.

LL is not accepted even by many other men who have done LL!  On one LL forum there were a lot of men who seemed to be horrified that a man who wasn't short would do LL.  Even some doctors who perform LL will refuse to perform LL on you if you aren't short.   While there are many reasons LL is not accepted, I think one reason is that it is assumed that men (particularly white men) are super dominant and powerful.  For someone with that belief, a man who has LL is making himself more dominant and more powerful since we associate being tall with dominance and power.  They believe that they are somehow oppressed by a man doing LL.  Obviously, this is absurd, but it seems like that is how they feel.  Even people who have not accepted the basis of this reasoning can still be influenced by it.

GainedSomeInches, unfortunately, I'm not surprised that you got a lot of hateful private messages.  I know that if I posted my heights before LL and after LL I would get just as much hate mail, probably more.

Hi Alexvs. Welcome to the forum! Did you get your surgery done here in the US? What was the cost and how long ago did you have it?

Yes, I got my surgery done in the US.  I had it done a little over 5 years ago, so I'm long since fully recovered and am still happy with the results.  I don't feel comfortable revealing how much I spent on this publicly.  Feel free to send me a private message, and I will tell you how much I spent.

Short people thrown into a conversation about eugenics on national news

Horrible that shortness is being touted as a disability, but the representative makes a good point about people (really women) doing this naturally anyway. It only becomes a problem though when men are the ones choosing the traits they want their offspring to inherit.

"Don't make height your entire personality"... Meanwhile: Tall people

An entire convention. And of course, short women are there.

You know if we had a meetup, there would be no admiration. Just jokes.

Why do people refuse to accept the struggles of short men?

I made a post on reddit, in some big sub. I tried to make an honest appeal to the normies there. I talked about the struggles short men face, and I didn't even bring up dating. I linked several statistics and talked about difficulties at the work place, bullying, depression and suicide rates, etc

The post got downvoted and nobody addressed any of the arguments. Some guy in the comments said I wrote it with chat GPT, which is hilarious considering it was very obviously not AI, and half the top posts there are AI. I got one gaslighting comment talking about how short guys live longer or something

Reddit is generally left wing. Aren't they supposed to care about oppression?

At least the right is honest.
