I'm in college and dating is okay, but I've read how tough it is for us guys when we get into the "real world". You always hear a lot of people say that "yeah, but if you're rich, you'll be okay". Or they will point out celebrities and say, "see X CELEBRITY gets all of the ladies and respect".

Now, I am not trying to attract gold diggers, so my goal is NOT to get money TO attract women in droves. I'm more curious about how this work. I can't imagine an old balding guy who is foaming at the mouth holding the latest iPhone having a woman say. "OMG, that guy over there has an iPhone 10, I'm totally going to dump that guy and get with that old balding guy over there".

Is it more about going fancy places and going on vacations? Wouldn't that look like you're trying to "compensate".

Even though I'm in college, in my social circle, I'm considered the "wealthiest" because of the gig work I do on the side (I do SEO and word press design). I don't broadcast this though. I wear regular clothes and drive an average car, but so do many of the athletes on campus and they swim in female attention.

You mean to tell me if I wear a suit and tie everywhere or dress in expensive clothes, I'll get way more female attention that I do now?

Money will help any man. I've turned down men because their finances weren't straight.

Chris Rock said "Women don't go backwards" in lifestyle and he wasn't lying.

Money won't phase height queens, but if she's on the fence with you and deciding between you and someone who is mostly equal in every way, and one can give her better experiences, she's going to go with the guy who is better off.

If you were talking to two women who were equal in every way and one was more attractive, which one would you pick?

a definitive NO!  you cannot negotiate attraction so a women may be attracted to a mans wealth & financial success but want nothing to do with him romantically.  women will take a broke, 6'+ chad over a 5'6 millionaire every single time.

"Every" single time? Not even close. We're not talking about a guy who is say 5'2, but put a 5'6, or 5'8 with all else equal and plenty of women will take the shorter guy, especially if she is over 30 (plenty under too)

ok-maybe not every single time but perhaps 99 times out of 100.  studies show that a mans height is a neutral factor for attraction when he is 5'10 and that anything under the average is a negative while anything over is a positive.  all things being equal, women will almost always choose a taller man over a man of below average height & even older women greatly prefer taller men to men who are vertically challenged.

I'm glad I just go out and live my life and don't let statistics limit me. Someone with a weaker mind would let this deter them rather than going out trying and failing until they succeed. Everyone isn't lucky in life, but the smartest dude with less luck than others won't let that limit him.

perhaps it is the men who are delusional about success eventually being a guarantee for anyone who are the one's with the "weaker minds"?  if intelligence was such a large factor in dating success then there would be FAR fewer very smart, physically unattractive single men then there currently are.  how many complete rejections should a man get before giving up & trying to accept that he is simply not good enough due to his inferior genetics? 

i'm glad things have worked out for you but along with the just world fallacy, you should consider another common error in thinking know as survivorship bias- i.e. "We are tempted to think success is due to particular characteristics which can be emulated. Just remember that, sometimes, success can also come down to luck."

Or you're just projecting your own failures or perception on "how things work" onto others. You have several men here telling you that they've had successes and have confidence while acknowledging their own losses.
