Question

How many of you believe being short guarantees infidelity from your partner?

With social media being the dominant medium through which people interact online and dating apps being the main way people meet nowadays (according to the data), the online space has become a playground for the average woman (who receives hundreds of matches and thousands of matches weekly) and men in the tall, dark and handsome category, who make up a small percentage of men. Add career/income and that is even a smaller percentage.

It begs the question. Why would she be faithful to you, or even consider you at all? 

What I'm trying to say is, does being short in an of itself increase the chances of you being cheated on, or be used for what you have versus for who you are?

I don't think so. "Guarantee" is a strong word. 

If she's a cheater, she's going to cheat, no matter what.

When I worked in a clothing store during the summer when I was in college, shamefully, a co-worker was cheating on her boyfriend with me. 

Her boyfriend was 6'2, mid-level career, but an overall boring, square, 9-5'er. Not that there's anything wrong with that. He was also in his late 30s.

At the time, I was 21, in excellent shape (I'm still in good shape now) and was more of an adventurer. 

This went on for months until I decided to bail. She was never going to leave him because he was well-off. I caught feelings, but it was mostly based on lust. I was young and sprung.

It wasn't the last time I had offers from a woman who was committed either.

I also think that you need to know what kind of woman you're dealing with. If she is all about tall men and is "all of a sudden into shorter men", or "gives you a chance", then that is a major red flag.

It's really easy to believe something like this, and it would be a real ego boost for a taller guy reading this.

However, it doesn't really play out this way.

I've been the guy women cheated on their taller, burlier man with before.

This woman I used to mess with, her boyfriend was an ex football player, needless to say, a pretty big dude.

Guy didn't know I was taking his woman to pound-town. 

That was my awakening moment. If a guy like that could get cheated on, then it's really game-over for a lot of dudes.

It's really luck of the draw.

This should've been a poll. 

I think it'd go up substantially. The likelihood I mean.

I mean, if this whole idea of "feeling protected" is so important to them, then eventually they'll want to bail if they lose that feeling around you. 

Another reason why being stoic is everything. Vulnerability = weakness, and that perceived weakness goes up ten fold if you're a short man.

A man's height has had no bearing on whether or not I remained faithful or wanted to leave. There were tall men that I dated that I absolutely wanted to get away from after a few dates, and short men that I would never have wanted to leave, but they left. The majority of men I dated were shorter guys.

As you all know, I'm now married to a short man.
