During WWI, The British Had Bantam Regiments. Soilders 5'4 And Under
During World War I, many men wanted to sign up to fight but the British had a height requirement of 5 foot 4. To service these enthusiatic would-be soldiers, they created separate battalions that would be lead by officers of normal height. Their rifles would be cut 6 inches shorter and they had custom made uniforms to accommodate their short stature. They had an amazing track record. How did you fit in during college?
I am a 5'3 guy. I am maybe a 9/10 in the face and am ripped but not stocky or muscular. I guess you could say an athletic build. I love video games, politics and history. I also love skateboarding, biking and paintball. I am getting ready to go to college and was wondering if there are any other guys under 5'4 that were able to be a part of the in-crowd, didn't deal with bullying and managed to just fit in.
Any tips or stories? |

Getting cut off mid sentence during meetings
I've noticed that during meetings at my company I frequently get cut off mid sentence when sharing ideas or giving input, where as my taller colleagues are given room to express themselves. I also noticed that some of my shorter collegues tend to use their hands and a lot of body language while talking. My way around this is to continue talking even when there is an attempt to cut me off mid sentence. How do you all deal with this? |
