Are Americans more heightist since most have German ancestry?

2/3 of Americans are of German, Dutch or Scandinavian ancestry? Is this way America is so obsessed with height, because they bought their culture from there to here?

Well to be honest, Germanic influence is Pan Euro right because they conquered most of Europe from the Romans. Technically then, you could say American obsession with height is mostly European in origin?

Since im living in scandinavia i can tell you that people care about your height. i dont think im far enough in my life to have experienced it in the working enviornment, but i tell you. In the dating life, women care like there was no tomorrow.

Most commenly in the start 20's and before that.

If you're suggesting that Germanic culture is more heightist than say Romantic and that somehow permeated into the American social fabric, then you might be on to something.

The majority of those who claim German ancestry live in the Midwest. Cities with high Latino or Italian populations tend to be less heightist in my opinion because Masculinity plays a bigger role than height and height isn't considered THE most masculine "trait".

Most Americans aren't of German ancestry.  It's the media who's to blame for heightism against short men.

No matter where you live, no matter how you want to think, people love it when it looks stronger. Having a giant looking body will make the others think that you are stronger. It is in our minds and we cant change it. I'm living in middle east and it is the same where I live. Taller and stronger men get more out of their bodies with less effort. People are born heightist and you and I cant change the fact deep in people's hearts. I personally would equate being short in height with ugliness and unattractiveness to the degree that based on your location and society may be unfavorable.

(Ps. There are plenty of factors could lead in achievements and success beside the height and being ugly doesn't mean failure.)
