This isn't me, but my ex-hubby and I were about the same height difference and I had no qualms about it.

these extreme outliers are inevitable due to probability but are certainly not the norm.  for every one of these  examples, there are countless hundreds if not thousands of short men who cannot get a single date due only to a lack of height.  i cannot recall the last time i saw an attractive women with a man shorter than she is IRL.

Perhaps, but that's not what this specific thread is about, it's about the many tall woman-short man couples that are out there. My ex girlfriend and I were about the same height difference, and she asked me out. She looked noticeably taller in heels, but I never felt awkward when with her. We were together for about four years until a career move on my part didn't make us going further possible becuase she wanted to stay in the city I was in at that time.

the "many" claim is vastly overstated-unless you consider 7.5% at most to be many (remembering that things have only gotten much worse for short men since 2013 so it's very likley much less in 2024)

"Wanting to measure the height difference in existing couples (as opposed to people’s preferences for a partner — we’ll come to those later), researchers in the Netherlands used survey data from 12,502 couples who were the parents to babies born in the U.K. in 2000. Their peer-reviewed study, published online in 2013, found that in 92.5 percent of couples, the man was taller than the woman and that the average height difference was 14.1 centimeters, or 5.6 inches.

But if what I see in my area (greater NY area) regularly is different than what the studies you cite (from ten and twenty-five years ago), then I won't be so inclined to restrict my view and expectations to what those studies (from Europe and not the US) show.
