So this is something I want to vent about. My friend, who is all about being true, and sticking to her core lied. Her boyfriend is 5'6 maybe 5'7. Real sweet guy and gives her the world. Her parents live out of state and brought up meeting him. They have been seeing each other for like 3 months, so it isn't serious yet. Well she had them on speaker phone and was giggling away while her mom asked her questions. She asked the height question and she said idk like dad's height... Which he is easily 6ft. I met him! Why would she lie? I don't get it.

I hate to say it but it sounds like she is so desperate to impress her mother she is willing to lie about it. Maybe her mother will judge her for seeing someone who is shorter than her father?

I am sorry but if I was him I would dump her. That is bs. It is like she knows they will never meet him so she is stringing him along or some bs.

Is she serious about him because the way she lied is implying she is not. I agree with Spider on this one. Maybe you should say something if it is bugging you enough.

This is to save face and it sucks that many women feel pressured to follow gender norms and are thus ashamed of thing that are no big deal. Still I blame her though because it should not matter what other people think of the person you love.

I feel like she basically tossed her relationship under the bus with that one. If you truly love someone, this kind of thing does not matter.
