Height should never be a reason not to have kids, just saying. That sounds so damn selfish.

I want kids... oh wait... I already have one. lol Either way, I want more. My height is a non-issue for me.

Where was your BF's parents born? I don't think either of you need to worry. Each generation gets taller until a certain point. Urban areas tend to produce kids who are taller. If your BF's parents were from rural areas this would explain his height. (i think its prolly due to eating choices in rural vs urban). But the next generation will be taller.

When did your BF or you stop growing? You can talk to doctors about it first, some people delay puberty in their kids so that they don't get an insane early growth spurt. This allows them to go through puberty when they're older and taller, rather than wasting your height spurt to go from 4ft to 5.4ft @ 12years old.

Not sure what you're getting at. What does this have to do with height or having kids?

I want kids...preferably 1 or 2 only.

 

I know so many short couples that have tall children so I wouldn't think twice even if I was much shorter.

 

My aunt is 5'3'', uncle is 5'5'' and their two sons are 6'1'' and 5'11''. My neighbors have a 6'4'' son despite being an average height couple.

I do agree with your boyfriend. I think he is a wise person and sees beyond and doesn't want to risk for good' sake. Only a short person can understand the miserable life of another short person when it comes to tall people's world. Believe me, as a man I would like to have children but it is way too risky to have a short son. However it all depends on personality type and self confidence. Having no children doesn't mean to waste our lives. Also you might think of adopting a child.

But you would really forsake having kids because you don't want to have a short son? How do you know that short son wouldn't grow up to be Ghandi or MLK? How do you even know your son "will" be short?

About 80% of height is down to genetics and if you are short and you marry someone who is shorter, you probably wont reproduce someone who is tall!! but you might think of treatments like somatotrophin later on. I believe somatotrophin is not an answer always, you may check Lionel Messi wiki page. (I personally had a chance to inject 30 of this so called somatotrophin but experienced no effect at all)

About Gandhi and Martin Luther King, I would say they both were INFJ personality type and I am an INFJ too. As a man who is shorter than average and is an INFJ, the life is absolute hell; the absolute loneliness. I would never like to have a child to feel the way I felt this world. You think I 'm joking?

Anyway, it is up to short couples to decide whether they want to have a child or not but I would recommend to avoid it. Let the misery end! Adopting a girl would a an option.

It is sad that you have to think of a child who may be taller looking down on you. I feel like the way the world views outward beauty shows how small minded people really are.


I feel like you didn't really read, or at least fully comprehend, what I said. I said nothing about outward beauty, and you just lumped me in with "small minded people" and labeled my opinions as "sad". Very judgmental and presumptuous of you.
