Podcast panel asks whether "short kings" exist.

I never had a problem with this term, but I'm older, and calling someone a "King" was never a bad thing.

The people on the panel debate this however.

Not even calling yourself “Short King” will get you to the level of someone called “Tall Guy".

The name should be removed, it is used to remind us of our lack of height and how they think we need to be called in order to feel better about ourselves. It is a lie.

I don't really take issue with the term and don't see what the big deal is.

I've heard way worse. I'd take offense with the word "midget" or "shrimp" as those are really demeaning.

Then again, I'm also a Millennial, so that could be the reason why I'm not so offended by it. Even then, if people call me those things, I don't let it phase me. I'm secure with myself and confident despite what others think of me.

"Short King" might be taking shape to be Gen Z's version of "little guy" or "manlet".

I just don't see the connection. "King" has never been a bad term.

I call my hubby "my short king" all of the time and it doesn't bother him the slightest.

How tall is your husband and how long have you two been married?

This is it right here. I'm older Gen Z and people have taken it and turned it into a pejorative. It's all about how it's said.

There are Tik-Tok videos floating around with women saying, "I don't want no short king". You can see how that would irritate some.
