Why do people put dwarves and short guys in the same category?

Someone tell me why people call me a "midget" and I am not that far from average. I do not understand why people would call a guy who is 5'5-5'9 a midget when they aren't really that small.....

Because they're ignorant jerks. Some people see anything below 5'8 as short and put them all in one category. Once I was in a class and a woman who was around 4'9 was near me. One of my classmates said "look you and her are the same height" even though I'm a lot taller than her.
