I would be more motivated to get in shape. Not 6 pack but very good shape.

Go to the beach and have a sense of smugness and be happy most of the time.

Sense of pride.

how would u enjoy ur 6'1"-6'4" height to the fullest before u die?

Are you suggesting that your height of 5'6 discourages you from working out and getting in shape? At your height, it would be easier to shed off pounds and pack on lots of muscle, much faster than a 6'1 guy. I am happy being 5'7, but if I were 6'1, I'd only use it to my advantage when it comes to persuasion and of course women (my dating pool would be larger by default). But honestly, I do just fine at 5'7.

There are many other things in life enjoyable than dating/ girls to put so much time and effort into one thing. Look for those. I wouldn't try becoming apro wrestler to increase my confidence for girls.

If I can't attract lots of girls it's not the end. Dating is not for me then. I look forward enjoying other things in life.

U get tired of girls and dating. Eventually. Life is too precious and too good to concentrate on one single thing.

But I won't stop u.

Did you begin working out? I find that at my height, my ripped body still gets lots of attention.

I can't really answer this, being that I am a woman but I can say something on behalf of my boyfriend. He hates going anywhere or doing anything where height is easily noticed. He loves playing basketball but refuses to play in public. He loves to go to carnivals and such but wont anymore because he always feels like people are looking at him funny.

Guy has a theory on why short men will become select in the near future

I don't agree with it at all, but there are people who think this way! The one esoteric person who does the opposite of what people do just to do it.

5'3 man becomes stepdad because that's the "best he could do."

Man talks about a 5'3 acquaintance of his who is about to marry his cousin (5'6), a woman with a few kids.

He is about to attend his cousin's graduation party and wonders whether or not this 5'3 guy is settling for his cousin because "he couldn't pull any other woman".

How the forum has helped me become a different person.

This one is actually a "shorter" one, as i think im know as the guy who posts books on here. :D

When i first started this forum, i was an angry guy, i had hatred towards women. Even if it wasnt as bad as i used to be,
It was still wearing me down.

In the beginning i didnt post anything, but occasionally replied to some posts that was within my hatred.
Letting off some steam and spilling my toxic waste in a place, where everyone are in the same boat.
As being anonymous i later on gathered the confidence talk about my life, as i've never done before.

As the result of letting out some anger, and spreading stories about myself. It made me calm, and gave me a different kind of clearity.
I started accepting other people, and those i did not accept, i didnt wanna waste energy on.

All in all i've changed into a more controlled person.
And all that, just cause i could let off some steam, and write about myself, even if noone are reading.

So thank you ShortGuyCentral and its community!

It's Time To Become a Protected Class

As much as we'd rather not play the victim because most of us probably have no issue with our height, other than the consequences of the fact that everyone else seems to care about it. In the hiring process and workplace, dating life, etc. we are not receiving the respect and rewards that someone else would who is an exact replica of us in every way, except a taller version.

Today, I was walking through the department store quickly after I picked up what I needed, since I needed to get somewhere as shortly as possible. Just as I passed by a lady pushing her young son in the shopping cart, sitting in the cart seat, she raised her voice and said to him "When you grow up, remember you want to be TALL!" I kept walking even though I felt like turning around, punching her in the face, and telling the kid, "When you grow up, remember, all that matters are the actions you take, because YOU HAVE NO CONTROL over your height". A frustrating thing I don't understand and seems to be a running thought in the mind of women as if it is a possible thing. Women think men whose heads don't measure up to a certain level turn out that way because they lack the ABILITY or WILL... like wtf is this? Other than environmental factors/diet/exercise contributing possibly an inch or so height difference, your ultimate height is determined by your genes. Why would you ever focus on HEIGHT as a QUALITY TO STRIVE FOR?

Anyone?

We really deserve all the extra help we can get, because although we are more than capable of doing everything ourselves and know that height doesn't matter, the world has socially, and therefore politically, stigmatized the plight of short men. This hurts our chances of equality without an added legal basis as a protection class so that we can better defend ourselves SOCIALLY from being, excuse me, "looked over".
