Every organization has its blowhards. These are the worst. The ones who barely do work, are slackers and get promoted because they have the "image" the company wants to sell.

It's pure jealousy which is why they have to attach a "syndrome" or they have to make up scenarios in their heads to cover up their own failures.

5'6 PhD tech guy on LinkedIn frustrated at being ghosted constantly

Brutal. Not something I would share on a professional site like LinkedIn, but I sympathize with the guy.

new growth plate regeneration technology will make you taller

Before you know it, new technology will be able to make us taller even well after puberty. Research is underway to regenerate growth plate tissue and is showing promising results: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/2014/02/regrowing-growth-plates-a-fix-for-kids-injuries/

Once upon a time, if you ended up short after puberty, you were short forever. Pretty soon it won't have to be that way.

Looking to take tech job in Japan

I just finished a certification program and passed a very hard and expensive test for a tech job and managed to land a job that requires me to travel back and forth between the U.S. where I live and Japan.

I'm Caucasian and in my early 30s. I am on the short side and understand that the Japanese are quite short on average. How will my height work against me in business relationships abroad. I don't mean to be insensitive or anything, but I hear that Asians in general are quite brutal, honest and never bit their tongues.
