"If You're Assertive, You'll Be Accused of Having a Napoleon Complex"

So when a shorter man has confidence and is cocky, tough, ect, he is said to have a Napoleon complex? This is what I just read. I have to admit, I have been called mightly mouse a number of times and most of the time is pissed me off but I ignored it. I guess what makes me mad about this is that Napoleon was a leader, and powerful in his time but because he was 5'6, people in todays world, or the last century atleast, have made jokes about him being short. I have seen it in cartoons and heard it in jokes. So they take this powerful leader and reduce it to a joke. Why did you do what he did? I can assure you it wasn't to make up for his height, so why joke about it!?

Issues with pictures?

So my cousin, who is also short (he is 5'6) joined a few online dating sites over the last, maybe 8 months or so. So many women gush over his blue eyes, tanned skin, and thick dark hair. He has been on, maybe 7 different dates that were from these site and 6 of the 7 were disapointed. Like a few never called him, a few ended the date with saying "you're not my type" and one even said "Woah, you are shorter than I imagined!" and left him before the date even began. The one date that did end well where they really hit it off, he was in the middle of a divorce and ended up getting back with her husband. So he struck out 7 times.

He was saying how his height is clearly listed yet these women keep assuming he is taller than her is. Has this ever happened with you or someone you know? What can he do to make his picture show he is not some 6ft tall dude?

Tall guys have nothing to prove?

"Some short guys totally own it, and that’s awesome. But my ex was obsessed with it, and even though he tried to act like it didn’t matter, he was always trying to prove that he was “manly” or “tough,” overcompensating by being the “funny guy” who always needs attention. My guy was about 5’7, which isn’t even that short, but his ego was tiny, and very fragile. Really tall guys often have nothing to prove."

Thoughts on this? It was written by a woman who was confessing about dating short men in the past.

What's your favorite meal?

I am a bit of a food lover. I haven't found many foods I don't at least like. lol

My favorite meal has to be a prime cut steak with mashed garlic potatoes, and steams broccoli and asparagus.

Saw something I had to share (it is a good thing!)

I was at the park with my girl and her son and we seen a wedding going on. We got close enough to watch without interupting and I saw something right away. The man had to be around my height, so between 5'5 and 5'7 and the woman must have been 5'8+. I thought wow he let her wear heels!? I always assume the worst I guess but no... She was wearing flats! What I imaged was her family were mostly taller men and women and his side, shorter men and women. I was happy to see this. Everyone was happy to see it happening.

Moral of sharing this... Not all people care about height!

Hoods or no hoods?

I swear my fiance is the only person I know who will not wear a jacket with a hood. He has had me cut off and sew his hoods on his hoodies. He said he feels like they are pulling on this throat and they look stupid from the bad anyways.

So I am wondering, do you like or hate hoods?

Someone at work commented on success and height...

So this guy I work with said taller men, and thinner more attractive women go further in their careers just based on their looks alone. Now to me, this sounds shallow as heck, but can it actually be true?

Where can I find short button up shirts?

I wear a medium but even a medium seems too long on me. The small sizes are just to tight on my shoulders and arms though. I guess I am looking for a more fitted medium?? Not really sure. I need a few dress shirts. I am going to be in a wedding in late May.

What cologne do you use?

I have a hard time finding a cologne I like. I always go back to Cool Water. I am trying to find a new scent but I am so picky. haha

What do you wear?

How can I reassure my bf that height doesn't matter?

I know he has trouble with it and accepting it. He gets very jealous of me when he sees me talking to taller guys, his own taller friends even! I also have a friend who is 6'1 and he is engaged with a child! There is nothing there but he hates that I talk to him. He is basically a brother to me through family friends. How can I reassure him that I am happy and content with his height!? I meen I wouldn't want to be with someone a whole foot taller than me!

Favorite short dunker?

He, by far, it my favorite dunker under 5'9. It is amazing what he does and he is only 5'8! He is billed at 5'9 but my 5'9 friend met him and he was shorter. Cool dude too.

Wanted to share something that helped my fiance'

When we first started dating 4 years ago, he was just over 5'6. About a year ago, he started practicing proper posture for his herniated disk in his back. He got it from a car accident. Anyways, I noticed a few months ago that he appeared taller. Sure enough! He was a whole inch taller! I asked his doctor if this could happen and he said when proper posture is practiced, it lengthens the spine. So that is something you guys can try if you want. He said in most cases it is only a .25" difference but some have gained over an inch.
