Women want taller men more than men want shorter women

Abstract from the Study "Personality And Individual Differences" - June 2013. PDF available here

Physical characteristics, such as height, play an important role in human mate preferences. Satisfaction with one's own height and one's partner height seem likely to be related to these preferences. Using a student sample (N = 650), we show that women are not only more selective, but also more consistent, than men, in their partner height preferences. Women prefer, on average, a larger height difference between themselves and their partner (i.e. males being much taller than themselves) than men do. This effect is even more pronounced when examining satisfaction with actual partner height: women are most satisfied when their partner was 21 cm taller, whereas men are most satisfied when they were 8 cm taller than their partner. Next, using data from our sample and that of a previously published study (N = 52,677), we show that for men, height is more important to the expression of satisfaction with one's own height than it is for women. Furthermore, slightly above average height women and tall men are most satisfied with their heights. We conclude that satisfaction with one's own height is at least partly a consequence of the height preference of the opposite sex and satisfaction with one's partner height.

70% of Japanese Women said they'd date Tall/Ugly over Short/Handsome

The interesting thing is that 24% said they'd rather go for short and handsome. The odds are better than I thought.

Why do so many women believe short men can't have big hoo-has?

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was banging out some thick chick who was about the same height as me (5'6) and she kept on moaning and screaming intensely loud. She made this big deal about how huge I was down there. I never thought I was huge, maybe average.

As a teen I was always confident. My height never bothered me until I graduated high school and came to realize that height matters so much to other people. I couldn't get through a night out at a bar or club without some woman insulting me or joking about my height. Even some guys would clown me from time to time. I will admit it really messed with my self esteem. Once you realize how big of a deal it is to so many, you start questioning a lot of things about yourself. But then there was this one encounter I had.

I really thought she was gassing me up until I took it upon myself to look up some forums about dick size. There were all of these tall guys on these forums crying about how their members were 4 inches and 5 inches. I knew I was larger than that but wanted to confirm for an exact measurement. 8 inches I am, 8 inches!

The woman I banged, her best friend would flirt with me in ways she never did prior to me banging her friend out. You know what this meant right? Yes, she told her friend. I didn't bring this up, but it made me realize that where god didn't bless me in one area, he abundantly blessed me in another.

I've been with about 30 women since that encounter. I gotta say, not every woman will take kind to my approach, but the ones I get, they are always surprised! I asked this question on the thread, but the truth is I don't care about the answer. Short guys who feel like they got a raw deal in life, kiss the ground every day if you're a part of the big meat elite. The women I've banged want to stay attached and end up wanting me to commit. It reminds me of an Eddie Murphy stand up where he says "I've figured women out, if you make them go woo-woo, you have them"!

TL:DR - We may have gotten the short end of the stick height wise, but having a big hoo-ha is a rare and beautiful thing! A lot of tall men aren't well endowed!!!

Who is the shortest celebrity you've met?

For me it would be MMA champion Demetrious Johnson who stood at 5'3. Really swell guy and down to earth.

Black woman devistated by "Colorism" in online dating. Sound familiar?

Saw this on reddit and had to lol at this one. Most of the short man bashing I see on Twitter coincidentally comes from young black women. Read this article. A lot of whining about seeing "no weaves", "only into White, Asian, Hispanics" on men's dating profiles. She says she was devastated how one she noticed it online she noticed it anywhere.

Anyone reading this reminded how many "don't message me if you're under 6'", "i need to wear heels", "short men are bitter" you come across on profiles? They don't feel sympathy for us lol, why should anyone for them? A preference is a preference right?

Less than 5% of Americans are 6'2 or taller. 6' is NOT average.

This is from 2008, so it's not up to date current, but the point still stands. I don't know how people conflate 6' with average. On just about every website, people swear being under 6' isn't normal and makes you some kind of pariah. 60% of men are under 5'10 which means that average height is beneath that - 5'9

Daily Mail reports Congress Shooter as 5'6, "rude" "lonely" & "creepy"

You literally can't make stuff like this up. What does his height have to do with anything? We have tens of mass shootings every year in the U.S. and if the man is average height or tall, they never bring his height up. If a guy is short all of a sudden all of his psychological issues are somehow related to his stature.

comments on Caroline Wozniackis "upgrade"

I like these anonymous comments and the up and the down bars because that is really telling how people are feeling

check out all of the comments on the bottom of this page about how Caroline Wozniacki "upgrades" her guy over the "shrimp" "turnip""midget" "little troll" that she used to date

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-4564164/Caroline-Wozniacki-enjoys-romantic-day-beau-David-Lee.html#comments

it seem there is 1 group you are allowed to mock and defame and your comments are going to get posted and you are going to get alot of approval from the other posters and that is a short male

Being short has made me realize how lazy people are with themselves

When I hear women complain about how fat they are, guys complain about how broke they are, or people complaining about how big their nose is, about their mole, etc I want to cringe. These are all things that can be fixed with effort or a few thousand dollars and a few days to a few weeks off. Short of Limb Lengthening, which is $100K and requires a two year recovery, there is literally nothing a short man can do to "fix" his "situation".

So knowing that the body image "problems" that people face are fixable within reach and that there is nothing that compares to being a short male in society today... you can be a morbidly obese woman or 4'9 and everyone will think it's just fine, but god forbid you are a man below 5'7.....
