I know this blog post has been referenced on this site as a source for a few articles, but thought it was worth posting again in its raw form as the blog is now defunct and only accessible through web archives. The name of the blog was "Slightly Awkward Shelly".

The comments did not disappoint and went exactly as you think they would (with a few supportive ones here and there).

This lady is a whole clown. 

On one hand, she makes a sound argument, but you can tell she is wrestling with the idea and realistically plotting on using said man to prevent passing on her own insecurities to the next generation.

This is the difference between shorter men and taller women.

A short guy could have the same line of thinking, but actually be attracted to the taller woman in question.

With this woman, it sounds like she's trying to prevent herself from swallowing her own vomit with each keystroke.

And no, the comments did not disappoint. Oh man....

I remember this post. I read it probably a decade ago.

Apparently, she did marry a shorter guy. I don't know how long it lasted however.

I remember thinking to myself that she would be one of those who would settle out of necessity which is the worst case scenario for any man let alone a shorter man.

That first comment tells every man what we already know.

She will try her hardest to get the tallest, strongest, most handsome man she can find.

She'll find out at some point like most, that she is sharing them or that the ones that she wants won't commit.

She'll then give up, and that's where you come in.

Who knows what else would be on her plate by that point.

I'm glad you highlighted this.

I'm not the "she needs to cook" type, but the way she's framing it here shows that she enjoys cooking to a degree, but is relieved she doesn't have to do as much because she has a shorter man and shorter kids.

In other words, she knows she's settling and thus doesn't "feel the need" to give as much to a shorter man as she would do without thinking for a taller guy.

Be careful out there. Some of these women want to get more for less.

She definitely wouldn't stand for a guy saying he wouldn't have to provide for her as much because she's not his normal type.

Tough read. Even if said woman is actually interested in you, it's still for reasons of utility (in this case, a chance for her daughters to not be overly tall) and she still has to rationalize things to want to deal with you.

I was just thinking this. Even if you get into a relationship, you have to observe to make sure she really is attracted to you and isn't using you as some kind of safety net.
